STUDY IN THE NETHERLANDS

Why study in the Netherlands?

The Netherlands is an ideal location for foreign students seeking a high-quality education, an innovative and dynamic learning environment, and a welcoming and open community.

What are the benefits of studying in the Netherlands?

  • The Netherlands has a long history of providing high-quality education, with numerous universities continuously ranking among the world’s best. Many schools provide undergraduate and graduate degrees in English, making it easier for international students to enroll.
  • The Netherlands is one of Europe’s most competitive economies, and getting a job after studying here is very high. The Dutch government promotes innovation and new talent by offering visas to foreigners with marketable skills, and giving a “search year” visa which allows international students to find a job after graduation and start their career.
  • Compared to other countries, tuition fees are generally more affordable.
  • Focus education in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields with universities offering state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge research opportunities.

Do I need a student visa?

International students who wish to study in the Netherlands will typically require a Dutch study visa, which is also known as a Provisional Residence Permit (Machtiging tot Voorlopig Verblijf or MVV). This visa allows students to stay in Holland for longer than 90 days and is required for students who are citizens of certain countries outside of the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), or Switzerland.
